Is there anyone making such a thing? I tried out a plastic bar and liked the low sustain / banjo-esqe tone but would prefer it in a dobro bar shape not a bullet bar. Seems like a perfect job for a 3D printer - cloning a steel bar in plastic!

Greg, try this: a cheap yellow PaperMate mechanical pencil, you can buy them anywhere. Yields a shockingly accurate banjo simulation on PSG, no sustain at all, but has the rasp and non-sustained notes your looking for!

I stumbled on this as a lark, using the pencil I use to take notes during my students' Skype lessons. An M&M's mini plastic case is also pretty good, but that pencil is amazing!!
