I sold that guitar for Chas to a guy in Knoxville in July of this year. It was beautiful and a handful for sure.

OMG Jim, now that makes sense that Chas had it. Did you ask him where he got it?? Cause he has acquired some of the most uniquely built steels I've ever seen and has had some steel made a certain way or modified himself...
Wondering if this was made for Speedy West first to get the endorsement with Speedy cause that did start about 1968...I'm pretty sure.
You can email me; if you find out from Chas and it is private...ah..ha....
I bet Chas did that work underneath...??ha....sorry; I'm mini-freakin out..ha...

Ricky, I know almost nothing about Marlen guitars, other then they are gorgeous, and they have the tone to die for (pull/release ones) , to me undercarriage looks original factory Marlen, except one knee lever that seems to be added later on... guitar is a Day setup on E9 neck, so it is very possible that whoever buys this guitar will need to have it changed to Emmons, in which case it may end up in your hands to do the change... upper neck is A6, and if I was gonna keep this rare bird, I’d have that top neck tuned to E13 , and play me some old Hank music Cool

Yeah, that was me. It's a great guitar--I played the A6 neck more than the others. I'd probably change the middle neck instead of the top one if it were me.

This guitar sounds great, and looks beautiful. But I'm in the process of a major downsizing, moving from a big house in Knoxville to a very small one in the mountains of North Carolina. I just didn't have the room to keep this beauty. I really, really hated to let it go, but I'm glad to have had it as long as I did. There's more stuff yet that I've got to release...

Jim--I appreciate it, but it's no problem. I really do love that guitar, but it's big and I've moved from a 3500 square foot house to about a third of that. I ended up keeping the Jon Frye/Eddie Bush guitar that I rebuilt. It's big too, but not quite as much so as the Marlen. Plus I'm a big Eddie Bush fan.

Got to keep room for my banjo building shop and a place to sleep, so banjos and steels are having to downsize, but it's OK. Retirement is a good thing!

iz sure is a very rare one, I’ve never seen another T10 Marlen, and only a couple other T10 pedal steels, one was T10 ZUM Johnny Cox used to own, and another one was a Bigsby, but I’m not sure about that one....

Ricky my friend, if we were closer I'd let you play this beauty all you want... but I promise I'll let the buyer know that you offered to work on the guitar if needed... I have only seen a very few T10 pedal steels, and this is the only T10 Marlen I've ever seen...
