When Sho-Bud introduced this model, what did they call it?

Did they call it "fingertip", or did that name come from players?

As far as I know Sho~Bud didn't call it anything, it was just their pedal steel after the permanent.
I started on pedal steel with a "fingertip".
I ordered a pedal steel from Shot and that's the guitar he sent me.

In this thread, James talks about the Fingertip being nicknamed “the universal”. It’s a very educational thread, lots of pictures too! Even Erv makes a valuable contribution and a reference “the Universal years” on the very first page...thanks Erv!?
