Buddy mentioned recording a bunch with Marcel Dadi. I haven't heard much of those sessions over the years and I recently came across this great gem backing a video called: "The Battle Of Nashville Then & Now". Buddy's solo begins @ 1:30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no8IaF1lm0k
It says the cut is from a record called "Nashville Swing".

I have one album of Marcel in my collection, called "Country Guitar Flavors". The Nashville portion of the recordings has lots of Buddy on it.

Kind Regards, Walter

Many years ago one of mentors who was a Chet freak gave me a cassette copy of some stuff with Buddy, Marcel, and Chet. I don't remember if this was on it. I seem to remember Chalker was also on some cuts with Marcel and Chet but I could be mistaken. It was a long time ago..... Surprised

Marcel was killed aboard flight 800 that was brought down by friendly fire.

I would love to feast my ears on that tape. Such a tragedy.

Chris,

If you have a cassette player, I will send it to you. I just found it and it just says "Emmons" No reference to Chalker on the handwritten description.

I don't have a cassette machine set up. PM me with an address.

Bill

Pretty sure the albums Bill's thinking about are titled Travelin' Man and Nashville Memories. I believe they were recorded from the same sessions, and have Buddy and the whole A team all over them. Caulker is one or two cuts. Unbelievable stuff- God, I stole so much from Emmons on those two albums.

Here in France, many guitarists met Buddy Emmons and Curly Chalker thanks to LP of Marcel Dadi recorded in Nashville.
These recordings are really to listen!
