I eliminated all noise by floating the pickup. I did this by cutting some soft foam the exact height I want the pickup to be. Then I super glued the foam to the body and super glued the pickup to the foam. It's there to stay unless I forcefully rip it out. With screws you are still making body contact. Floating it on foam eliminates that. I even cut those unsightly ears off the pickups. I mean who sits around adjusting there pickup height?
