I just bought an MPX 1 with Hughey, Sasser ,

the wrong buttons or something, because I've
Lost all of them. Anybody know what to do to
pull these settings back up? Or know someone
that can program them back in if necessary?
Need help, thanks.

I haven't played with my MPX1 in quite some time. I have those settings but won't be home for an extended time. I really doubt if you lost them by just pushing a button unless you initialized the unit to factory default somehow. You would almost have to do that on purpose. If they really are gone though they are retrievable. Someone on the forum will have the midi sysex (I think it's called) program of those settings. You can receive them in an emailed midi file I believe and download it into the unit with a midi connection. I wouldn't remember where to look for mine and someone else should explain the procedure.
That's a wonderful fx unit for steel and well worth the hours it can take with the manual to really understand it. As I remember Randy Beavers had quite a breakthrough in how to parallel program it to pair with a pre-amp like the Revelation. He posted those settings a few years ago I think.

I am with Scott. Don't believe that you lost the settings, depending on what screen you are showing you may be in a place where you cannot change the patch to the one you want. Make sure that you can change the patch by turning the wheel and that the buttons on the far right side are not lit. If you are an apple user perhaps we can facetime and I can see where you are at.

I've lost something along the way. How can you have one setting for a specific player? I don't even think Newman used one or if the MPX1 was around when he was alive.

I was on a show with Hughey and he changed settings for different songs so he obviously had more than one. Same way Newman changed his Profex II program depending on song.

Jack,

There are user slots to set up all the paramaters of the MPX-1. For example you can take preset 37 which is large cathedral if memory serves me correctly and modify delay time, timbre of the reverb etc. and save it to one of the user numbers.

You can name them as well. So you could Hughey Reverb, Hughey Flange, etc.

Emmons also used this unit at one time I believe.

Jack, A bunch of years ago Buddy Castleberry downloaded the settings into mine and as I remember he said he and John Hughey sat for hours developing the settings he used on the MPX1 with the Revelation. I think there may be three or four with different reverbs and delay times. Then he also obtained Buddy Emmons's actual settings and (I thought) some from Jeff Newman as well. Didn't make me sound like Buddy but my hands started feeling magically more adept and I would see a kind of sparkle coming off my picks that I know wasn't there before!
