Is anyone running an extension cabinet off a nashville 112 and if so what are you using. Thanks. Chuck M

There's no ext speaker jack, so it's probably best not to. There will probably be impedance issues if you just try to tap off the speaker. You could use a powered speaker or power amp with speaker cabinet, using the preamp out.

well hold on, the N112 uses a 4 ohm speaker. typically an Output Transformer can support an impedance mismatch with no issues. I pulled the 4 ohm speaker, installed an 8 ohm speaker and ran it at 8 ohms with no issues for weekly gigs, for near two years. I pulled the stock speaker which is MID strong and replaced it with a Fender Gold label Eminence. The amp is no longer mid strong and leans bright. I then added an ext 1/4 speaker jack, cabinet mounted, and often use a 2nd 8 ohm cab ( parallel) which brings it all back to 4 ohms.

What we don't want to do is take these amps down to 2 ohms or perhaps under 4 ohms. We don't have much history as to how much of a mismatch they can tolerate . 4 to 8 is not really a big deal, we may expect a slight volume decrease, 4 to 2, may be a strain. I didn't notice any volume decrease going from 4 to 8.

For example, the Nashville 400 amp uses a 4 ohm BW speaker. The specs are 130 watts 8 ohms, 220 @ 4 ohms. They do not recommend 2 ohms. And thats most likely why there is no ext speaker jack, the 2 ohm thing. So we can safely run 1 or 2 / 8 ohm speakers with the Nashville 400.

NASHVILLE’” 400 SPECS
POWER AMPLIFIER SECTION:
RATED POWER & LOAD:
210 W RMS into 4 ohms
with DDTgcompression and LED indicator
POWER @ CLIPPING: (TYPICALLY)
(5% THD, 1 KHz, 120 VAC line)
130 W RMS tino 8 ohms
220 W RMS into 4 ohms
2 ohms not recommended

Thus on a "stock" NV112 it shouldn't be done. On a "modified" NV112 with an 8 ohm speaker then that's different.
