they said it would be easy. They said just put the bar on the strings and slide it around and push some pedals and levers and music would come out. IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY...... |

I can still remember the day I got my first pedal steel. I played it (or rather played at it) for about 12 hours straight. Finally, my old man came in the room and said...
"Well, you finally got that pedal steel you've been dreaming about. Now, if you just knew somebody that could play the damn thing, you'd have a heluva good time!"

I haven't bothered to plug in the volume control pedal yet. I figure maybe I should learn to play a bit before I complicate matters? Next weekend I am going out to a three day jamfest and will bring it and play in public for the first time. Maybe I should hook it up then and keep it turned all the way down? |

Played with a bunch of musicians. Good thing they were mostly amateurs and no one played PSG. I fooled them, they thought I actually knew something! |

Well, I played lead guitar for fifty years and I know when not to play and what not to play. I stuck to what I knew, did not try and solo much. Just did mostly back up chords etc. I know where a lot of chords are. |

Same here. Figured I would force myself to learn the strings and pedals/levers before adding the swell effect.
Having played organ for many years, the expression pedal is nothing new. But psg is a little more expressive when you're able to slide up and down from any note and pull strings into pitch.
Psg is harder to learn. _________________ ShoBud The Pro 1
