I have a couple of questions for MSA Millennium owners? Does it have the round cross shafts? What is the string width at the nut? |

Cross shafts are 3/8" square. The string spacing at the nut I measure to be 17/64", or just a smidge over a 1/4". (Note: Mine is a very early one, but I doubt that these particular dimensions have changed.) |

Isn't the spacing at the bridge more relevant? _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Hey Donny,,,Thanks a million. What is the total width at the nut,,from string 1 to 12? Do they all have aluminum necks?
Ian,,,I am looking to see how much taper. All my keyless guitars are 5/16" at the nut. |

Both can be relevant, it just depends on the player and what's being played. If you're playing a song like the example below, closer spacing at the nut makes clean playing a little more challenging.

Actually,,,none of the above is the reason for the questions.
Could you tell me the distance from string #1 to #12???? |

I measure 2 3/8" for my late-model D10 Millie 2. So pretty close to Donny's 17/64. As far as I know, they all have aluminum necks. _________________ Bringing steel guitar to the bukid of Negros Oriental! |

Sonny, my very early Millennium U12 is 3 3/4 inches at the changer and 2 15/16 at the nut from strings 1 to 12 center to center.
The neck is aluminium. I think all Milles had aluminum necks because of the cast/machined raised fret fretboard design. |

Hey Doug,,,Thanks!!!
Hey Jaime,,,haven't heard anything from you in a long time!!! It's hard to believe Reese has been gone this long. Guess you've seen my little keyless lap steels? Paul Franklin is using one this week on some George Strait sessions. Thanks for the info my friend. Hope you are doing well! |
