Hello,

Recently I sat down to try and learn Sol's version of "I Ain't Got Nobody," Some of the voicings were impossible to get using his known tunings of high bass A, low bass A, and C#min. After tuning the high A down to G out of high bass A tuning, I was able to get the right voicings. Has anyone else messed with this tuning at all? Seems to be pretty versatile.

High to low:

E
C#
G
E
C#
A

Can you point specifically to the voicing you are referring to?

I thought it might have been the regular E7 which has the voicing in the middle but this is much simpler and there's no root on top that I can hear. A really interesting tuning! The 9th chord fudges on adjacent strings (0.29) shouldn't really work but they do and that forward to reverse slant move is sweet.
