Opening a can of worms here, Al. Could pick ten, could pick a hunnert... But I'll try to keep it manageable and pick only three of my current (and all-time) favorites:

1) Gentle On My Mind (Emmons) John Hartford, 1977
2) I Threw Away The Rose (Mooney) Haggard, 1967
3) Misty (Jay Dee) Ray Stevens, 1975

I like that Sonny Curtis solo. It sounds like he does a single string slide-up the Major Scale at the one part. Very cool.

Great album. Different Kind Of Flower has one of the classic Emmons solos, too. Another sleeper from that same era: Sweet Country Music by Milton Carroll. Buddy Emmons, of course.

These are all fantastic solos, but one I really like is George Straits "Just like my Dad" with the Big E. I really love this solo and I heard that someone asked Buddy which solo he did that he likes best and he said this was the one. I didn't hear him say that but to me,this is really a heart felt solo.

Bill Johnson with Marty Robbins' , Shoe Goes On the Other Foot Tonight.
Nothing really fancy, but a very appropriate solo...
