I love Speedy West's pyrotechnical playing as much as anyone but I especially dig the way he played slow tunes.

Here's my A6th interpretation of Speedy's tune "Sunset" in the key of E, which sounds (to my ear) like Speedy adapted the Hawaiian tune "Whispering Lullaby". This is similar to the C6th arrangement in G in my "Hot Strings" book but adds two rest measures. Note: haven't double checked the accidentals in the notation yet. Speedy made extensive use of the volume pedal on this song so the diamond-on-its-side markings on the page indicate volume swells.

Very nice. Thanks for posting, Andy.
That is the A6 tuning I use frequently
on 6 string steels.

Thanks for posting, Andy. I enjoy Speedy West music,
and purchased a 3/4 stainless steel Speedy West bar
some time back.
