The Camera uses USB and you can download to a flashdrive, or to a dvd, never used it to a tape, you can load to a Computer.

Camera has screen that opens out from the side and swivels up and down, produces high quality video feeds, I bought it to take videos when I took my cruise to the Mediterranean with my girlfriend but I accidentally left it home in its box, I used it for music videos but not a lot, it is easy to carry, very light, has extra zoom features also.

Most important are:

1)storage method - you mention a computer, but that's a pain...what internal storage does it use?

2) video quality. Is it 480i, 720p, 1080i (or p)? Most cell phones will shoot 1080p nowadays which is why I'm asking. A 6 y3ear old digital video camera may be pretty low-res[ in today's world.
