I saw Doug with Vassar Clements before I bought a steel, although as a banjo player I'd heard Green,Emmons and Chalker! |

Larry Sasser. I'll bet you'll see a few Buddy Cage votes too, b0b.

I put BE but I was also much inspired by Al Perkins' work with Manassas. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Red Rhodes (and in a photofinish for runnerup): Jerry Garcia, John David Call, Bobby Black, Pete Drake and Lloyd Green. My exposure to other SGHOF players came later. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Little Roy Wiggins. I used to buy Eddy Arnold records just to listen to Roy. _________________ GFI Ultra Keyless S-10 with pad (Black of course) TB202 amp, Hilton VP, Steelers Choice sidekick seat

I should also have mentioned Bobby Black's contribution to Commander Cody. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Ralph Mooney! BJ Cole! Winnie Winston!
Sorry b0b, Ralph Mooney, surely in the top three most influential. Great question though! |

It's really difficult, if not impossible to pick only one.
I don't see Don Helms name. All the Hank Williams stuff was very influential. |

I think you should split out the educators and teachers from the question. Separate poll for Jeff, Tom, Winnie, Reece, John McClung, Joe Wright, Mickey Adams, etc.
Paul Franklin clearly in both shortlists. |

Feel free to start a separate poll for that.
This poll is so flawed! I'm going to redo it after a day or two, adding the obvious big omissions (Drake, Mooney, Helms) and deleting those with the fewest votes. The polling code only allows 20 entries, and I'm not going to change that. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
