Great guitar!!! Billy and Lynn have lots of expert knowledge between them, and are exceptionally nice folks. But you probably knew that already Damir. |

Really amazes me what this restoration has accomplished! Years back, ( has it been 10 yrs now? ) I visited Chris Luckers basement shop at his home. He showed me a bare cab that was just red flocked. Of course, I was clueless as to what significance that was. Now, I think that BE's spirit is somehow watching this present resto from afar. Damir has put himself in the driver's seat at great $$ peril to himself, and Henry labors with a passion we all admire him for. Kudos to both you gentlemen.
And would some one PLEASE buy that marvel of a Standel museum- grade from Damir he is ready to sacrifice! 😂
Serendipity (sp) is what I call this love of historic platform re- evolution. Steady on! |

Jon, thank you my friend... as far as that 1964 Standel goes, it is going to be a nice match to this ‘65 Emmons so if I come to my senses, as I should, it will be off the market 😊 _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |

Ahh..my two cents.. if this guitar has the bolt on tone.. and you want that kind of tone in your playing.. this is a lifetime guitar. _________________ Old Emmons D-10's & Wrap Resound 65, Standel amps!

yes my friend, you are 100% right ... as far as tone difference between red and black belly goes, color itself of course doesn't make any difference, what makes the difference is the year of manufacture, '65 red belly has a wraparound buddy, thinner end plates, and some other minimal differences from '66 ... '65 tone is more sparkly more like a wraparound, where '66 has more "growl" and sounds more like your usual bolt on... both sound awesome tho _________________ https://steelguitarsonline.com/ |
