Thanks Chris. Never heard that one. Joaquin Murphy's influence on Buddy really shows up in the first 8 bars of the steel solo. Buddy was, and will always be Da Man. Not to take anything away from todays great players or the great players from the past. I realize some will disagree. Only stating my opinion.

What kind of guitar is that? It doesn't sound as though it has pedals, or is it just the style?

It's very likely non-pedal steel.

Can anyone ID the other two guys? The guy on the right looks highly familiar.

They look like they rode hard from the last gig, in a packed station wagon, or they were informed they're playing for "exposure".

That picture was taken at "the Blue Flame" Mishawaka Ind. in 1952. the other two fella's were Bill Hinsey and John Harbison. These other two fella's entertained Mr. & Mrs. Don and Mary Emmons for years in garages of Mishawaka, while Buddy was off to Nashville. Mr. Green
