It’s the one with the position switch labeled “normal,†“treble,â€â€œchime,†“bassâ€? I’m looking at a decent one, but it’s close to $900. _________________ Remington Steelmaster S8 w/ custom Steeltronics pickup. Vox MV-50 amplifier + an 1940's Oahu cab w/ 8" American Vintage speaker. That sounds like the CG-520 Console Grande, 1956-mid-60s. They didn't make or sell that many, but they have some features an old style Console Grande doesn’t have and are reputed to be good guitars. I think these also have a longer scale. I don't know their exact market value but $900 doesn't sound bad to me in good condition.
The last Consolette I believe was the C-530 with more conventional humbuckers, but not the switch you describe. |

I have a CG 520. In addition to the tone switches it has the "4-8-4" pickup on both necks. The switching system is somewhat complex.
It is a well built guitar and comfortable to play.
The tone is very different from a Fender and may take some getting used to. I use the "Chime" position for all my playing.
$900 is a reasonable price for one in good condition. |
