| I'm a newbie, living in Santa Clarita, CA. In Northen Los Angeles County. There seems to be a huge vacancy of Steel Guitar Players and Teachers here. The nearest Steel Guitar store is about 200 miles away in San Diego and/or 120 miles away north in Bakersfield. Gary |

| You might want to try some of the on-line courses/videos that are available. It's not quite the same as a live personal instructor sitting in front of you but it can certainly help. Jeff Newman's courses are a great help. His daughter has taken over the business and posts here on the forum from time to time. Check out their website and see what they have. |

I can think of 2 steel guitar builders near you: Bill Asher at AsherGuitars.com, and Tom Burton at ChatsworthGuitars.com.
