Looking for a bridge cover for my '62 Champ. I know it's a long shot, but if one mysteriously shows up in your parts drawer, I'd sure like to have it. Ebay parts scavengers, you can keep yours.
Thanks, Joe

If you can modify something, here's an idea for you.

When it looked like I was going to have to invent my own replacement tuner pan for my Mark 1 Stringmaster, I looked at trying to modify a Speaker Jack Input Pan to make one, unfortunately none were the right size or depth.

Thinking on the same line, I measured an input pan I have v/s the cover on my Champ, and determined it would work, by sawing it up. Your Champ Cover is 2 1/2" wide OD at the pivot. Get a Pen Elcom 946 or 946/5 pan, check for the right dimension, on the drawings on their website. Cut in the right dimension to cover the bridge, cut away the right angle flanges, grind away the rough cuts, drill holes for the bridge pivots, bend and tweak to fit.

It won't be quite the same shape as the original, won't be chrome plated, although you could get that done, but it will work, and will be inexpensive.

You can buy these at Parts Express or direct from Penn Elcom.

Always available for some kind of hack.
