I would like to restore my early string master to as close to original as possible.

I have one tuner pocket and 6 of the round tuner keys. Two tuners are completely missing, as are an additional two gears. I would like a couple more round keys so I can at least get that side looking as original as possible.

Going to try to cast up a tuner pan for the other side, but, will likely have to use a set of new Kluson tuners for it, although if I could find 6 more round keys, I could change them too.

Please let me know if you are willing to sell me some of these parts.

Jim

It may be politically incorrect but your best chance of finding parts like that is on eBay.
Keep an eye on it, eventually michael_atw will get his hands on an early Stringmaster and part it out. Just hold your nose and pull the trigger.

I'd rather not if possible, my previous contact with certain Ebay seller has not been the best, tried to buy a Stringmaster body, wasn't able to even come close to a fair price. I have not seen any early tuners like this on ebay. If worst comes to worst, I'll use the Kluson replacements.

My inclination is to do nothing the easy way, maybe some one has a drawer full of old Kluson parts???

I'm out of town for a week but if no one else steps up I can probably help you.

b0b has some 8 string tuners and pans. Go to accessories at the top of this page in green.

OK Thanks Erv. I wasn't sure what he needed.
This is a new item with b0b and I wanted to expose it. He has the 8 string pans also.

He doesn't have the tuners or pans for the early Stringmasters with the lollypop tuners. They are different than for the later models.
As of yet, there has been no reissues for this type of tuners and pans.

Thanks to all for responding. I am not in a great hurry, the Stringmaster has been put away for quite some time, just wanting to find the parts so I can get it put back together. Bill S. when you get back, could see what you have?

I could modify the tuner pockets and use the kluson pans, just would rather get it to be close to the original configuration as I can.

Thanks to all. Jim
