Well, I got my Sierra tuned up nicely, my RKR Knee Lever is "smooth as silk". The biggest difference I've found is this. There is no "engagement felt, like linkages. With linkages, as the connections become engaged (slop removed), there is a soft stop, then you begin to feel & hear the string change, til you feel the stop.
With gears, you just feel the pressure of the lever, hear the string change & finally you feel the stop.
Gonna do my LKR Knee Lever, real soon. Then I will get busy on a Half Stop.
I actually got my Guitar all tightened up, fixed any timing issues & it plays great.
Thanks for all the comments _________________ Steel Guitar players are members of a Special Family |

Hey Charlie,
When I sold you that guitar I didnt know you were going to add gears to it!!
Whats next, a gear shift and chrome rims? |

I finally got the gears on the Left Knee Right, installed. I had a different application in this area, so to make matters simpler, I used a Shoulder Screw & a fat Delrin washer to give the short screw, some stability.
This time I had the bosses on the gears removed, to facilitate a cleaner look.
