Congratulations on the completion of your record, Mike. Waiting for it to "drop".
I'm sure you were bit big time by BJ's work on John Armatrading's "Down To Zero":

I enjoyed the video, and particularly 'Dimming,' one of my favorites. Beautiful playing. Thanks.

Mike, thanks for the heads up on your new recording with BJ. And thank you, Chris for posting Joan Armatrading's "Down To Zero". I bought that album when it came out and instantly became a fan of BJ Cole.

In the early 80's BJ Cole released a solo album titled Transparent Music. A number of years ago it was re-released in CD format. If you don't have a copy and can find a CD of it, buy it. It features some original compositions as well as excellent performances of compositions by impressionistic composers, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Erik Satie. (Mike, this might be the recording of classical music that BJ gave you).

From Transparent Music, "Gnossienne No. 3", by Erik Satie:

A number of years ago, BJ reprised "Gnossienne No. 3" in performance with Michel Deneuve playing an amazing instrument, the cristal de baschet, Fay Lovsky playing a theremin, and Renaud Pion on bass clarinet:

We are truly fortunate to have musicians such as BJ and Susan Alcorn who are taking the steel guitar into music far removed from the traditional forms.

Keep on pickin'!
Glenn
