I'll come out to say that my harmonics arent the best already, but I cant for the life of me figure out what's going on here. In this video https://youtu.be/Mj6SQyK_VAA at 0:30 I cant figure out how to do that Harmonic that Speedy is doing (at least that's what I think it is). I've heard this sound everywhere though I just cant figure it out. Any help will be appreciated!

the effect at ~0:30 sounds to me more like a volume pedal effect, perfectly timed with a fast, high glissando.
but then, what do i know? _________________ The mainland is intimidating, bewildering, and uncomfortable. And you have to wear shoes. -- Theroux. |

You are most likely right I would try that out, but I simply don't have a volume pedal to try it with. Thanks for the input! |

Thanks guys sorry if it came off as a dumb question was really curious. Looks like it's time to finally stop avoiding volume pedals and go get one. |

If you're a Speedy fan try to track down a used volume/tone pedal so you can do the boo-wah effect ue uses. Speedy used a spring loaded lever attached to the guitar and others use a tone lnob but the foot pedal works great. |

One of those Fender volume/tone pedals should work.

you could do it the low-budget hawaiian way and and use your little finger on the volume pot. _________________ The mainland is intimidating, bewildering, and uncomfortable. And you have to wear shoes. -- Theroux. |

Thanks for all the recommendations I'll be searching around for one of those pedals.

At 1:44 he plays a palm harmonic and slides from 5 to 17. Except for the Slide part, it sounds like the lick you’re asking about. Of course the volume pedal is still a large part of getting that sound.
