I pulled out an older LDG out which I never really used. Now I remember why I put it away. Two of it's nylon tuners get caught on the lower lip of the endplate as they return from their travel. It's got the double-raise/double-lower changer, non pot-metal undercarriage, and the rods are in the bottom holes of the those fingers.

Is there a fix for this? I'm guessing the problem has probably occurred with others.

I dunno, is the changer not mounted or assembled correctly? It seems to me there should be more clearance. Do I bend the rods so they go through the changer straighter rather than at the slight angle they do now? As a preference I'd rather keep the rods in the lower of the two finger holes where they are now rather than going to the top hole, if possible.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give.

I'll take a guess that your tuning nuts are too long. You should be able to cut the nuts shorter to gain some clearance. If that's not a solution, a picture may help.
