I am looking to get together with other players in the Wilmington to Fayetteville area. You can come here or I can go there.

I have about 2 years on the PSGs.

I have 2 PSGs: a GFI SD10 and an Emmons 70’s PP.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Bill

I posted about a week ago and have gotten 0 replies.

Ok, area expansion, Myrtle beach and All of NC.

Let’s see how this works.

Thanks.

I'm way over in Asheville, don't get down your way very often. my buddy Jack recently relocated to the Raleigh area, and there are other players down that way.

you should try and make the next Southern Steel Convention in Belvedere SC. might be a bit of a drive but a great place to corner some steel pickers!

Good luck William. I'm east of Charlotte but not very good yet - maybe in a couple yrs. It would be nice to hang with some other steel players and bounce ideas.

Scott, do you have any info on the Belvedere Steel Convention?

I lived in NC for almost 30 years(MCAS Cherry Point area). I believe you need to hook up with the fellows at the Mid-Atlantic Steel Guitar Association. They will know most players and teachers. Also look up Billy Knowles at Steel Guitars East(I think that is the business name). Fine fellow and superior steel tech. There are many fine players in North Carolina, teachers and instructors all. Will they have the time, you can only ask. Good hunting!

I play pretty frequently in NC, but mostly in the northwest. I throw this in just in case you are ever in that area.

Attention Scott: I will be playing May 11th in Mills River, near the Asheville airport. Venue is Bob Pressley's Old Home Place. Family Friendly, 7 til 10.

I'm in Charlotte, there are several players in this area. While I would like to get together and jam I really just don't have that kind of time right now between gigs, gig prep and rehearsals. Plus other "life" things we do !

Getting out to points East of Charlotte is not an easy task. One road with multiple one horse towns with massive amounts of traffic lights and 35 mph !

Southern NC and points East and West are still stuck in the 50's when it comes to roads either direction. All of the major highways to and from Charlotte are aiming north or aiming west towards Atlanta. Evidently the Charlotte to Wilmington connection is still not recognized by the good folks in Raleigh as viable. I've been here in Charlotte since 1989 and they have been working on the exact same I85 north corridor ever since then. It's not actually roadwork, it's a career.

I would love to visit Billy Knowles more often but it's a 4 to 5 hour drive each way !

The Southern Steel Guitar shows are excellent, I attended plenty when they were in Saluda SC, which at the time was right about 2.5 hours from Charlotte heading south.

Belvedere SC is in the Augusta area, off of I-20 , right at the SC/GA line. Approx 3 hours from Charlotte, for those who may be wanting to attend.
