i'm following this thread. I ordered jeff newman's swinging c6 books and have started with them. they've done a good job so far of showing the pockets for blues scales and some common chords and phrases. I was only about half way through book 1 when I sold my double neck to fund an emmons double neck that is on it's way. |

http://www.buddyemmons.com/ Some great stuff there..
Jim Palenscar at Steel Guitars of North County has some more Buddy Emmons instruction. One called basic C6th is excellent! |

Tune it up and start hacking away at Hank Williams tunes. I would skip using the pedals for that stuff at first. Super fun. _________________ Bob |

My personal experience is that getting involved with C6 makes one a better E9 player. |

Buddy Emmons’ C6 course is very very clear - I know Jim Palenscar sells it.
Also, Herbie Wallace’s beginning C6 course is very good (HW200, I think) _________________ Christopher Woitach

Buddy's Basic C6 course was a big help to me. Steve Palousek's C6 courses are also great . |

+1 for what Bob H said. your ears will recognize some obvious licks and you will be on your way. |
