Hello Fellow PSG'ers,

I was wondering if you all could help me ball park the value of the 8x5 D10 Derby, Serial# 368. My friend's uncle passed and this was stashed in his house, never left the case. I am hoping to buy it off him but I know these are pretty great guitars so they might be worth more than I can spend. I would be grateful for your opinions. I think he is willing to work with me but I want him to get a fair price.

P.S.- If I buy this I will be looking to sell my ShoBud Professional and my SD10, Dekley Slimline with BL 705
***AND*** I acquired a decent number of records from my friend, including Buddy Emmons Black Album. I intend to sell that one! Keep your eyes peeled if you have any interest.

Thanks everybody

A quick search revealed most of them selling in the $2,400 to $2,900 range. For a D10, the lowest price I could find was $2,200, and the highest was $3,100. An identical guitar to this, SN 0182, was listed for around $2,350 some years ago on the forum, but it was missing a LKL lever.

I kinda like the teal color on this one!

Sounds like it's like brand new. It's beautiful. Also a great guitar. If I was selling this, I wouldn't think of selling it for less than $3,200-3,500. Just being honest. Smile

From the picture of the changer end it has split tuning screws on all strings. That may put it at the top of the value list. You would have a lot more choices on tuning setup.

I have a Derby SD10, and a D10 Emmons Lashley LeGrande (Strayhorn era).
The Derby, IMHO, is on par with the Emmons in build quality, options, fit, finish and tone.
I love them both equally!

I bought a D10 about 20 years ago. Still sounds and plays like new. Only replaced a couple of tuning keys. Great guitar.

I own a Derby sd10 and d10 . Tremendous guitars , for live and recording. Derby is one of the most underrated brands ( except by the people fortunate enough to own them).

Thanks everyone. I will have to have a talk with the guy and see what he is thinking. I would love to get it!
