Topic: I Need Help With Signal Path Options |

Ok. I've done an exhaustive search and haven't found the answer to my simple question. I have always run from the guitar to VP, into a rack mount tuner, through a Deltafex,and to the amp. After reading the threads of people who know a lot more than I do about electronics, it's apparent that I have been losing signal and tone by doing this setup. So I want to try running the guitar to VP and into the amp. My problem is,I don't know how to best connect my Lexicon MX 200 or my Deltafex straight to the amp as well. I have a NV 400 and it has the pre EQ jacks on the front,but also has power amp and pre amp jacks on the back. I just got the Lexicon yesterday and sure don't want to blow anything up! Thanks guys!

Have you read at the NV400 manual? It contains specific connection instructions for external effects.
It's best to consult the manual first, "Google" anything you don't understand, and then ask questions. Otherwise you will get "connection answers" but you won't understand why you''re following them. That's always a bad idea.

I find the most friendly option is the front panel loop. I've used the rear loop because the reverb pedal I was using hummed. But in the back loop, if the effect was turned on when I turned the amp on, I would get a loud sound similar to kicking an amp and the reverb spring crashing. Try the front loop and see if it is to your liking.
Neither loop should damage anything.

If the manual wasn't much help - respectfully - you're overmatched with that amp.
I suggest just leaving things the way they are and learning about effects loops, preamp outputs, power amp inputs and how they work. It's WAY too easy to misinterpret someone's instructions and make a mistake - and you CAN damage the amp in some cases.
In other words, don't mess with those connections until you understand them. And since they are on your amp, learn about them and understand what they do. you ned to be able to look at the manual and understand it.
Those connections are common to hundreds of other amps, so you'll be in a big hole if you you are going to use an amp with those features and not understand them. Simply following someone's connection instructions won't help - there are settings that need to be changed as well.
Plan "B" - sell it and buy an amp like a Fender Pro Reverb where everything goes in the input. Many, many players prefer that type.

Sometimes FX loops are not friendly to all pedals or inserts into the loop. The older the amp, the less sophisticated FX loops may be.
