I'm selling my Fender Stringmaster D-8. This steel is in good condition and has been refinished. It comes with a case which shows a lot of ware but is still functional. All the chrome is in good shape with minor pitting on the tuner pans and the "Fender" decal is missing on the front of the guitar. The legs adjust and hold perfectly. Both pickups are good and the scale length is 22.5." Asking $1200 shipped to the lower 48. I prefer PayPal "Friends & Family" but will also accept payment by postal money order, bank check, or personal check, (but must clear bank before shipping). Thanks for looking.

Hi Jerry
If the case is original , the steel is from the early 60's.
Also , looks like a 22.5 " scale , judging by the fretboard.
Great steel , I have one like it.

Well that case looks like the late 50's. I believe by 1960 the case was black?
Just loosen the strings and unscrew and lift up the tuning pan closest to you to see the date written on the wood.(or other tuning pan if not that one.)

My ‘61 P Bass and ‘62 Strat both came in those brown and orange cases. Think they were used at least from ‘59-‘62, with overlap with tweeds at the start and blacks at the end. Great period for all their products. Nice Stringmaster.
