Two years ago to the day my wife and I walked into the Hank Williams museum in Montgomery to be greeted with the news that Merle Haggard had passed away.

So here comes that workin' man! One of my favourite Merle song.

Good effort on a fast one. We play this often and I need more work on it. Keep refining the melody. I have heard so many of the giants play this that it humbles my attempt.

Thanks Bill, Larry and Werner for your positive comments. I think this is probably the hardest woodshed in the series great fun though! Next up Johnny B Goode! Whew!

Alan,

Sounds great!

Been meaning to ask you. Are you playing the exact "Woodshed Workshop" tabs and parts in these videos, or coming up with your own parts, based on those?

Just asking, because I've been curious about those products.

Thanks!

Thanks to dlayne and Jim.

I am playing the exact parts I may change a couple of phrases in each woodshed but they are they are as best as I can do note for note.

Also some of the woodsheds like "Heartaches By The Number" the parts are note for not as they were played on the original recording the idea being that you are studying the player's style.

Hope that helps.

Alan

Thanks for posting your videos as you work through the Woodshed series.
Watching your videos is very helpful to me as I attempt to entertain myself doing the same thing.
I think the Newman Woodshed material is some of the best stuff available....Melissa often has them on sale at the Jeffran site

thanks Michael

You are right, the woodshed workshop studies are great each one a lesson in itself. Keep picking!
