I'm not exactly sure but my friend told me to look for that. The 1502 cone has ridges and i'm finding a couple 400's from the 80's with the 1502 in them. Just depends on the year maybe????? So far the ones I found unfortunately are too far to drive to pick up and the seller doesn't want to ship so I'm still looking.

The 1502 was more of a bass speaker.
There should be a tag on the speaker by the terminals to indicate the model.

Early Nashville 400's up to around 1985 used the 1502-4, alum cap, ribbed paper cone, pre-kevlar speaker. This is the edition of 1502-4 you want for steel guitar. Many players feel the NV400 from this era was the best sounding.

Following that, came a few editions of 1501-4 baskets, magnets and cone materials. The 400 amplifiers had some design changes also.

Later years 1502 were not the same as the early ones. These were pretty much used in bass enclosures and FOH enclosures and available in both 4 and 8 ohm models.

There was a black flat magnet w/a spider web decal and a silver magnet....it could have either.
