Beautiful lap steel by luthier Jospeh Yanuziello (recently sold by Folkways Music). Gibson EH-150ish. Joe always does impeccable work. My only quibble would be with having the input jack on the top of the instrument, rather than the side or tail.

| A 90 degree plug at one end of the output cable would solve that problem. |

Sure but aesthetically speaking, better not to have it on the face IMHO.

Of course a 90 degree plug would solve the problem, but I guess one would have to ask Joseph why he chose it to do it that way in the first place. I can't imagine ordering a guitar from him with the jack in that spot unless he could sell me on the "features and benefits."
Jack aside, it's a beauty.

Maybe the customer specified it be placed there? Like it or not..........the customer is ALWAYS right! 
I am building one now and have talked it over with my customer. We have 3 choices where to put the jack. All 3 are on the top and it will get a right angle plug.

Great pics Andy. Joseph does great work on all his builds. About twelve years ago when I was starting out, Joseph hot rodded a couple of lower end dobros for me, one I have sold and the other I am still playing. I would love to have one of his lap steels....Christmas wish list?

Hmmm... Looks a bit like a steel built by a guitar player. I agree with the gent who questioned why it's on the face of the instrument in the first place.

No, actually Joe is a fine steel player as well as an excellent finger style guitarist. I've played that guitar. It's a beauty, as are all of Joe's instruments. I've owned a Yanuziello resophonic for twenty-five years. It's a gorgeous guitar, with Fishman Nashville pickup and Jerry Douglas pedal. I'm culling the herd, though, and may put it up for sale soon. If anyone's interested they can pm me. |

I love the mix of color combined with the wood. The stringer plate is pure art! First class builder for sure.
