Topic: One piece gig bag? |

I've searched the forum about gig bags. Most posts I see involve two piece solutions. Can anyone shed some light on a one piece D10 gig bag?
Open to: keyboard cases that can be modified, companies that build out existing keyboard gig bags, etc.
Ideally something I could wear like a backpack.
Thanks! |

I would also suggest a semi rigid keyboard bag from gator. They’re about 150 bucks and you could make a foam divider for you pedal board and leg/rod bag. They are wheeled as well. _________________ D.S. Rigsby |

I've bought wheeled keyboard cases from Sam Ash and used them for Fender 400's and 100's - and 1000's are *heavy*. I bought the ones that have a semi-rigid bottom, then installed a sheet of masonite for additional strength.
I simply used some dual-lock Velcro to hold the Masonite to the bottom (it doesn't have to be firmly attached) and glued soft cotton towel material (cut to size) to serve as the "bottom".
With a bag for legs and rods (and another for miscellaneous) it made it very easy to move a steel around - much better on your back than some kind of backpack. the better ones all have plastic "sliders" for moving the things up and down stairs.
Best "case/bag" solution I've ever found. I like going to store and actually seeing.touching/inspecting what I'm considering for something like this. You really can't tell how well-built these things are on the internet - as I found out by initially buying a couple of not-inexpensive crappy ones! _________________ No chops, but great tone

Yes I use this Gator Case....and have had it for almost 15 years now...NOT one rip NOT one tear; NOT one prob. accident; dent; bang...etc to my steel. has side handle and end handle cause it has wheels to roll....too.
It is the perfect personal case....NO you don't want to fly it...and no you don't want to throw it in a van with a bunch of Anvil cases and idiots throwing stuff back there...but it is da'Bomb...man....and it's a short 49 key keyboard case>

Ricky,
Do you just keep the guitar in there, or can you get the pedal bar and legs in there as well? |

Ricky, that's a great looking case! Big interior straps, handles and wheels are terrific.
I'm not as tough as I used to be (if I ever was). Pain in my left hip, that was a clue to stop carrying 50-pounds with the opposite hand. Split 'em up, 24 pounds on each side. |

I use one of those Gator cases, too. I can get a ShoBud D10 in there with legs and pedal rack, though it is much easier to also get a soft shotgun/rifle carry case and put those in there. You can wheel the big Gator easily with one hand and carry the rifle bag or sling it over your shoulder. _________________ Kevin Maul: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Decophonic, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

Hey Jack; I'm like K Maul I put the pedal bar and legs and rods in a "Actually" soft gig/guitar bag and lay it on top of the steel in the case>
it's kinda like this bag here>

Ricky, you're "smarter than the average bear!"
I've been using two 49-key nylon bags. They get the job done.
But just ordered this Bulldog BD-492-35 shotgun case, a better fit for pedal-bar and legs:
Kevin Hatton's cases are highly recommended. I would use them if I had extra-muscle moving my gear.
The nylon case is OK for my local outings, laid flat on the car's rear seat, secured with straps hooked to the child-seat anchors.

For some S-19s, I've seen golf bag covers that look like they'd work. _________________ Dr. Z Surgical Steel amp, amazing!
