Here's a show I did for the club, back a few years ago. Good horn men, Dumplin' on bass, fun times.

Very nice set, good playing all around, the sound is easy on the ears, the tune selections are nice. Where do I ever hear In a Mellow Tone or I Can't Give You Anything But Love, let alone on steel guitar? I remember my surprise hearing you play the latter at the Grace Inn/SWSGA, probably 2011. I know it only from a Fats Waller record I inherited from my father many decades ago.

Herb, you mentioned a while ago considering doing a tab book of C6 jazz standards. Still thinking about it?

I'll buy two if you need the encouragement!

I really enjoyed that Herb. I think the last time I saw you play live would have been in the mid-70's with Alvin at the Spoke, so this was a real treat, sounding great!

Hey, thanks Slim ol' buddy o' pal! You're aware that I'm still playing with Alvin Crow, right? Come see us at the Spoke once or twice a month.

I have a show on YT that I did for the ASGCo-op, about a month after I'd shattered my right foot back in 2012, that I just played a C6 non-pedal guitar, with the good rhythm section and Floyd Domino (best piano pounder you can hire on short notice Laughing) on keyboards.

I think I'll post that one here also. Should be a fun vid.

Nice playing, Herb!
For your enjoyment, here's a recording I made of Herb Ellis (Guitar)- Bucky Pizzarelli (Guitar)- Milt Hinton (bass), at The Thunderbird Lodge, Taos, N.M., in 1986, playing "All Of Me": http://picosong.com/wkgpC/
While we're swingin', "After You've Gone" http://picosong.com/wkgWB/

Nice job, Herb! Great to hear you after lo, these many years -- even if not in person. I'll be in Austin this summer; I'll check the Chronicle and try to catch a gig.
