I know this has been beat to death but it's a new year. One of the bands I work with is in-ears. I've used the Quilter ProBlock 200, but the output via XLR is weak. Using the line out (effects send) renders a hotter signal but still sounds like an AM radio, even when mic'ing a speaker. My ears are triple UE-7's.
I know the x-32 Rack needs tweaking for sure but I'm curious what some folks are using to send a really good signal to begin with??

Hey Danny, I've been using a Behringer PM-1 for years and it works great. Just EQ your Aux mix at the board and you're in business.

| OK I've struggled with this for years. My latest solution is to use a small headphone amp (I'm using a Rolls) and I run my pre/amp (line6, V8, etc.) directly to a channel on the Rolls. I bring the send from the console (X32, Yamaha TF5, etc) into a different channel of the Rolls also. This way my Westones plug into the Rolls, I have a level for my steel (and 6 string guitar) preamps, and bring the console mix in on it's own channel. I'm doing my own mix on my iPad for the console, so I pull my guitar and steel OUT of MY house monitor mix, leaving the raw signal from my preamps from the Rolls. By doing this I no longer get the processed "compressed" (am radio) sound from the console mix, I'm getting the raw outputs of the pre-amp, and bring in the rest of the band on their own channel. I'm sure there's an easier way, but this way I get my sound every night and don't have to depend on what the sound company is sending me. |

| Problem with the Rolls is noise. Ground lift helps but does not eliminate the noise. Brand new unit. My other does the same thing.... |

Impedance matching and gain staging is key to getting these sends to work. You may need a DI box out of your amp to go to the PA mixer to get to your IEM's at proper bandwidth.
