If you do a search, you will find this, like most subjects, has been covered several times before.

And there are some of us that are ham's or in my case ex-ham (W5DVO and K3FFZ).

I went to Cyprus around Sept 1982(before my ham ticket) and used a military CFARS call there. I got my license around 1984. I was in BC Canada at the time and received the call sign VE7EKI. I was also in the military at the time and got transfered to Germany shortly after. During my 2 year stay in Germany I used the club station DA2??. Since moving to Nova Scotia Canada de VE1RLL

You never know where you will find a ham. I was in the Finger Style Guitar chat room yesterday
http://www.sweetsouthernsounds.com/

and had a chat with Ken Goddard. We got into some tech talk and he informed me that his ham call was W5CGP (I think I got it right)

Try this old post. http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum15/HTML/004962.html
