I know this is a long shot (this being a steel guitar forum and all) but can anyone here verify who the bass player is in the first clip?
I think his middle name is Gene, but I could be wrong.

Hey, work is work...
And, he's playing an Ampeg bass. Same model Rick Danko used with The Band.
Cool... |

I believe that is The BIG E himself. Thanks for posting. _________________ Just north of the Weird place, south of Georgetown |

I saw that video the other day, and thought it looked like the Big E, but was not sure.... Thanks for confirming! _________________ Bringing steel guitar to the bukid of Negros Oriental! |

Is it just me or at 1:40 does he look like he's thinking "Oh, God - another chorus of "Yakety Axe"?" Not to take away from the young prodigy playing the tune. |

Though its impossible to tell what's going through anyone's mind, I'm thinking that what's going through Buddy's mind is:
"Man, that Roger Miller gig out in L.A. is sounding better all the time."

When I was at Newman’s school in the 70’s, we went to the Opry and then to watch Paul Franklin’s killer band. On the way back to my truck (late!) I heard steel leaking out of one of the dives and slid in to find Curly on steel and Buddy on bass. One drunk passed out at the bar. I had my mind blown over and over that night. _________________ Stop by the Steel Store at: www.markvanallen.com

Really now, Mark! I was just, uhh..."resting my head" for a while.
