Wayne, the old JBL 130 was rated somewhere around 70 watts. You put that in a Solid state amp. pushing 300 watts, something is gonna blow.
I'm saying from experience.
On the other hand, I got those same speaker reconed by George Eliot at 375 watts, get back jack, killer!!! Very Happy

I have two Webb Amps, one with a JBL K130 and one with a JBL E130 in them and have been using them for years and those speakers have given nothing but superb response and service. Yes, if you push any speaker hard enough it will blow but with normal playing, the JBL speakers will hang in there until age causes them to go.
