Just checking the Thomas Paul Glaser catalog and found the Tune " Rings".
Really some stellar steel guitar tricks on that song .. Who was the Steel man
on that cut and probably more songs on that session?

I don't know about that specific song and session, but Doyle Grisham was on a lot of the Glaser Brothers stuff and toured with them.

Great steel guitar!

FWIW, it sounds to me like Lloyd Green's style.

According to the master himself, it is Lloyd Green on this recording. Thank you for posting!

Scott, Thanks for posting that, didn't know much of them, only what I knew of Tompall on the 'Outlaws' record. So much great stuff out there to be found!

The other day I was going to say, "could this be anyone other than Lloyd Green?", but i chickened out. Glad to know my ears didn't fail.

Tompall and the Glaser Bros. should be in the hall of fame, but sadly will never be. The were the ones who broke the NASHVILLE SOUND SYSTEM, allowing artists to record their own music, with their own musicians, and allow some of the greatest music of that time to get recorded. When Waylon recorded his 2 great #1 albums, it was with Tompall's help. Nashville doesn't want to lose control again.

Loved your playing Jim. Wish show was ever week. But that would make me move back to the big city, which I dont want to do. 4,000 people is enough around me, lol
CAA
Ray Walker SD10 went to a new picker in Canada, Sad to sell it but I know Ray would approve. He liked to start new steel pickers. Keep playing that great music.
