Ray, Thank you for the strings you donated to the Guitars for Vote program. (g4vprescott@gmail.com). I donated 17 guitars that I was able to pick up thru auction site and figured I could repair what needed fixed and re-string them.
The program now has those and reverb.com charity lady Molly is working with them to fix the guitars I didn't get too.
I kept 3 guitars when i moved to southern Arizona to give to
Vets down here as the program has not
spread this far yet.
A very Heart felt thanks to you. Art
A GREAT GUY TO WORK WITH

b0b sells strings and accessories to help pay for this website.
When you use it to sell strings you are in competition with the forum which is letting you advertise free,
When you sell strings bob cant sell them.

Ray, I personally don't care who said what and how. My point "this is not an advertising platform for either you or Hudson" It is a forum to share information NOT to sell or promote you or your mates products to make a buck. As Paul says you are therefore competition to Bob who uses string sales to help provide you with a free advertising platform I think NOT. Pull you head in Fella

Hey BOB,
maybe you can step in here. I notice Ray Thomas is not the only one who pushes the boundaries pushing product at the Forum's and your expense. A guitar manufacturer comes to mind as well. Have noticed this for quite a while on here.
Maybe some stricter rules and an advertising category where they pay for the privilege that you so kindly allow free - Just a thought.

Note: Simple rule are they trying to help themselves or help others???

The only thing the membership rules say about commercial sellers is

Quote:
Resellers may not post discount retail prices for new merchandise in the Classified Ads section. Readers can be directed to call or email for a discount price instead. Prices may be posted for "used" merchandise. Manufacturers may post prices for their own products.

https://steelguitarforum.com/agree.html

It seems that Ray is in compliance. Jimmy Hudson was also mentioned. It looks like he and all the other manufacturers that sell here are also in compliance.

The steel guitar community is so small that it would be pretty hard to find these small dealers and manufacturers without the forum. Promoting steel guitar has always been a big part of what this forum is all about.

This has all been worked out years ago, and these and some other sellers are respected members of the community. The, umm, "karmic repercussions" of people who make money from selling stuff on the forum - noticeably, in a section CALLED "For Sale: Amps and Accessories"... ummm, remain calm, everything is perfectly under control.

Once in a while somebody that no one's ever heard of will pop in trying to unload a pile of equipment, someone who never posts conversationally on other people's threads or seems at all aware that this place is quite abnormal, but: nobody buys their stuff so they go away. Often, miffed, huffy, and maybe some other words spelled with F's. And there's a fairly hearty "buyer beware" aroma that comes wafting off of seriously criminal intent? One thing for sure, b0b has NO PROBLEM donning his cape and crushing evildoers as he sees fit. His spies are EVERYWHERE.... Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

David Mason "This has all been worked out years ago, and these and some other sellers are respected members of the community."

I personally can't see how they can be regarded as 'respected members' taking advantage of the Forum at bOb's expense.

If bOb ends up not being able to afford to run the Forum where would they go then to peddle their wares?

For example: The latest Server replacement costs bOb has undertaken at his expense.

And these so-called 'respected members' go on getting FREE Advertising and product promotion - I think not

b0b's house, b0b's rules. He can change them if he wants, but it's been this way for a long time.
