I play mostly guitar and my main amp is a Tone King Comet 40A, which has enough power for steel, but the EQ is hard as it only has bass and treble. Started looking around for a 1-band parametric EQ pedal and came across this Revival Electric unit:

Exchanged emails with the guy, and turned out it was no problem for him to customize the range of the EQ, so I had mine sweep from 400Hz to 1.2kHz.

Has the very cool feature that you can listen to the sidechain and hear only what you're taking out.

Just got it and it's exactly what I needed. So just wanted to give a shout out here. He also makes a bigger 3-band EQ.

I prefer a graphic EQ myself, as they're just a lot more versatile, and they also give you a visual picture of what's happening to the signal. But that 50-ohm output impedance really concerns me, as that's enough to severely load down a lot of amps.
