Topic: Pot Replacement Help needed |

Hello folks,
as much as I really, really don't want to, it appears I may have to replace a frozen volume pot on an early, early 40's National lap. It's stamped 'Stackpole 82A I-260'.
Can one of you genius pickers (and I mean that) direct me to a suitable replacement ?

Mark, the Stackpole number is probably less useful than simply knowing what value it is. If it's frozen measuring might not give you the correct result, so just "Google" National schematics or wiring diagrams (or layouts) . If nothing else you may find a picture that leads you to the rest of the info. If you can't find the same "National" look for any other brand made by Valco
But it's not that important - As I recall they all use either 500k or 1 meg audio pots and either one will work fine. The only audible difference will be in the speed of the volume change. Any functional audio pot will work fine in a passive circuit like that.
You can order standard pots from hundreds of sources.
