Help. I bought a few Nibro magnets for my Valco lapsteels and would like to find a few more as the herd seems to multiply. I can't seem to track down Rick Aiello who made them anywhere. Does anyone know I might get hold of some?
Thanks, Pete Hunt.

Hmm... this is an intriguing notion. I don't suppose there are sound clips available demonstrating the tonal difference with the Nibro?

Pete? Rick?

I have been making a few NIBros for folks on weekends.

I have no before/after video or mp3 comparisons ... frankly because I don't have a Supro style steel guitar to compare and contrast ... in reality, there is such a huge difference, its kinda overkill to even try. Wink

The various pickups I've developed ... all evolved into the L&M unit ... and they are too time consuming to do during the school year.

If I had a benefactor ... ha, ha Laughing

I have Rick's Nibro magnets in my black Airline Valco. It was a good sounding guitar to begin with, but the Nibros really fattened up the midrange, producing a stronger, richer sound. A big improvement, no doubt about it.

I don't have any comparison recordings, but below are some videos I made with the Nibros in my Valco lap steel:

Thanks, Doug; that's helpful. I have a '50s Oahu "Symphony" here for comparison.
