I recently purchased a Peavey PX 300 powered speaker and am using it with my Line 6 preamp/processor. I am confused as to what cable do I use to connect them. They sit approx 12' apart. Do I use a speaker cable or an instrument cable? I understand there can be damage by using the wrong one. Any help?

Instrument cable. You are actually running from a preamp to a power amp that is built into the speaker cabinet.

Indeed, running from a power amp to speaker, you definitely want a speaker cable. But in your case here, instrument cable is the answer.
