Do you know where in Texas they are located? I just searched every page on the website and couldn’t find it listed. Might be because I’m on mobile.

It says Central, TX so I am guessing Georgetown, TX.

Their 'Services' page says: "We manufacture parts in our shop in Georgetown, Texas and outsource the fabrication of more complex components to machining facilities in central TX."

Austin area...

Yes, They are out of Georgetown, Tx. They are just getting started up. John Cassis I think is the proprietor. You can google Texas Steel Guitars and find them. I am thinking they are going to be a real good guitar. Check them out. J.R.

I sure would like to see more detailed shots of the under carriage. Especially how the changer mounts to the cabinet / endplate. Also looks like the pedal stops are on the back apron? Load up some pics guys....

Good looking guitars. A lot of similarities to MCI besides fretboard.

John Cassis, A real great guy.
Made me a part for my Star Guitar that was built by Mark Giles 12 years ago.
The price was very reasonable and he was so nice to deal with.
Very Happy

There don't seem to be any split screws. That's a problem, at least for me. Is that an option, Texas Steels?

Thank you, but I have already seen those pics (nice). What I was looking for was detailed pictures of the underside. Close ups so we can see exactly how the changer is mounted etc etc... No worries if you don't want to share that as I hope you are in Dallas for a closer look.

I also would like to ask about split tuning?

Cheers

Yes, very beautiful guitars.
With the slanted back of changer, be almost impossible to add split screws but splits can be accomplished by adding another bell crank and rod pretty easy.

May bad, was refering to MCI slanted backs. These look like split screws are possible. They may add them as an option.

I thought my Excel didn't have split tuning but Mitsuo told me it was there but located on the other side of the changer! Observe the tiny set screws located just under the strings.

Hey Mike, John & Ron were both at the Dallas Show last year. They had a booth in the big room as you come in. Very nice gentlemen and had several guitars on display to be played. They are building a quality guitar I think. Like you I think they should have more detail on their web site but they are just getting started and I am sure they will get that done in the near future. I have been in contact with John a number of times and we are in negotiation's for me to get one. Will let you know, J.R.

I have been in contact with John. The website is not done yet. They have more to post.

The guitars don't have the screws in the changer, but he said he would need to talk with the customer and could come up with a solution.

I like the looks of those pedals. Easy on the feet when playing in socks or barefoot. (Or would that be barefooted?)

Great to see folks getting in the Pedal Steel biz instead of leaving it!

It looks a lot like a Carter undercarriage, except the knee levers.

Even the right end plate has the cutout for the half stop tuning.

Looks alot like my Carter. Bud Carter was a genius. If you look at all of the Pedal Steel Guitars and Companies that have his finger prints on them.
