Further to Andy Volks recent post and tab regarding Buddy Emmons Blue Jade. I felt like I would like to have a go at recording a video of this for Lap Steel Guitar. First thing, I did not find this easy ( I seldom do)! I listened to the Buddy Emmons track a lot to try and get his feel and phrasing. The backing is a couple of Ukulele tracks....one tacking the rhythm and the other the oriental piano fills, plus a bass guitar holding the track together. I have learned a massive amount from recording this. I hope you enjoy it! C6 tuning CEGACE low to high.

A lot of work to get what you want there Mike, you are a braver man than I, but very well done nevertheless.

James.

Nice job, Mike of a deceptively tough tune. Buddy's version is definitive so you're going to the right well.

Thank you James and Andy. I think the biggest thing I learnt with this tune was the phrasing. I was trying to play further behind the beat than I would normally play.......and still think I could have stretched it even more!!!!

Nice tune. Well done. Having not heard it before, I went to the Buddy Emmons rendition and not four bars into it I remembered why I don't care for the pedal guitar sound.

Haha david, I know very little about pedal steel guitar but this guy Buddy Emmons is a great musician. He transcends the instrument and the music is gorgeous!

Thank you Daniel. I think the tone has a lot to do with the CC type pickup supplied by JAG in the UK.
