Thanks for posting the link. Yes, Pete is such a fine player. --met him at a Strawberry Festival near Yosemite quite a few years ago and was dazzled as he ran through an instrumental take on the Beatles', "Strawberry Fields". And, both he and his wife exhibited a generous hospitality and true grace towards yours truly even after I spilled a beer on the floor of their spotless RV. And, he digs the 'Dead. It must've been super cool to have been a part of the talented stew of great California musicians in their formative years. |

Pete is not just a great player, he's a great teacher. I took some lessons from him back in the 80s. He correctly diagnosed all my bad habits, and helped me correct them.
I'm a better player today because of him. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Met Pete back in 1981 in Idaho. I was in a road band doing a week long gig at Gator McClusky's in Lake Hauser (maybe the most beautiful place I've ever seen- Lake Hauser, not the club)). There was a show Saturday night with us backing Hank Thompson and the Dillards opening. Pete was with them (along with his Dekley). Got to spend some time with him in the afternoon. He had a two string ebow and did the intro to Strawberry Fields, lifting the ebow on and off the strings, spot on. Nice guy and a very creative player. |

he not only digs the Dead, he was good friends with Jerry Garcia and the story goes that they were together when they heard Together Again for the first time, and both decided to start playing at that point.
he also plays steel on the Dead's Aoxomoxoa album, and I believe he now owns the ZB that used to belong to Jerry... the one he used for Teach Your Children, Dire Wolf, etc.
Pete's also a member here and posts from time to time. hopefully he'll chime in here and set me straight if need be. lots of videos of Pete on youtube and I love his playing! a serious talent. _________________ 1965 Emmons S-10, 3x5 • Emmons LLIII D-10, 10x12 • JCH D-10, 10x12 • Beard MA-8 • Oahu Tonemaster |

The camera man is really on top of his game. I think that is the best coverage I've ever seen, close ups of both hands. The slant at 1:25 is awesome! Great stuff all the way! _________________ Sierra Crown D-10 |

Many thanks for that Norm. When I heard that crappy guitar
at the beginning of it, I was going to stop it. Glad I didn't.
I agree he sure is a fantastic player and his sound is beautiful. _________________ aka "Lucky Kay"--Custom built Rittenberry SD10 3X5, Walker S/S, NV-112, and Hilton Pedal |

I loved Pete's work with Hoyt Axton. I also really enjoyed meeting him in person and hearing him at the SWSGA Show in Phoenix a few years ago. One of the greats. |

Pete, you sound great as always, although I haven't heard you play in a few years. You're one of the major unsung California players. Good to hear you and see you getting some recognition.
