Now I've seen things like this animated before, but this one is real. A hand-cranked instrument that operates on marbles. There's a piano roll type mechanism that sends marbles to hit vibe bars, a bass (looks like a Hofner) that has the strings struck by marbles while the operator frets it, marbles hitting electronic drum pads, and so on. There's a mixer on the back & some sort of pre-amp or something.
Lot's of questions here... who has the time to think this up and build it? And why?
Well, why not?
Check it out...

Maybe because he couldn't find a human willing to play anything so boring and monotonous. |

Yeah...the little tune it plays is a bit lame. Seems the guy is building a new & improved (?!) version, using CAD design & construction, 3D printing, etc...able to play more stuff.
It's good to have a mission in life, I guess... |

Maybe he could find some of Pierre Brassau's family to write some better material. |

Interesting engineering.
I have a feeling he lives alone. _________________ I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying. |
