Hey all! First post here and super excited to join the SGF community!

I'm the proud new owner of a late 90's Melobar CC-8 and wondered if anyone could recommend a good stand solution? This is my first outing in the world of lap steel, but I already hunch I'm going to need something to rest it on "console-style" due to my volume and wah pedal trickery. I found some old posts about the Deluxe 34, but it appears that the gentleman who was making them may have retired from building.

Ideally I'd like something that has a little chrome involved, or at least has some degree of mojo, as opposed to a generic keyboard stand.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Jordan....this is what you are looking for: https://asher-guitars-lap-steels-store.myshopify.com/products/lap-steel-stand

Get on the list. It wasn't an exceptionally long wait for me. The stands are substantial and look great.

Hey Jim! Thanks for link! $325 is a little outside my budget range at the moment, I was hoping for something in the sub $200 territory, but it's good to know they're still being made and the wait isn't long. Maybe someone here on SGF has a spare used one they're looking to part with?

I stopped playing with a stand and went back to lap because I was using pedals! Unless you're going to use a stand across your lap, I'm interested in your pedal technique, very hard for me to get much control while standing.

Hey Matt. I'm actually looking for solutions to play while seated with the lap steel out in front of me like a keyboard/synth. I've been doing some pseduo-Speedy West tricks using my volume pedal and wah pedal. The guitar rocks around a little more on my lap then I would like, hence the search for a stand. At this point, it's looking like a Gator Frameworks Table Stand may be the ticket.
