Been using a .22 for the 6th string (unwound) for about 40 years. Thinking about trying the D'Addario NYXL strings and both sets use a .20.
Like to hear anyone's thoughts/ experience with the thinner string. I lower the G#-F#
Thanks.

Thanks, Tommy. Did you ever use a .22? I guess my biggest concern is that I have a half stop feel set up on my 1st for the F#-G, than the full throw takes it to the G#. Same lever lowers the 6th sting to F#. Afraid changing gauges will screw that all up, but with everything I'm reading about the NYXL's I sure like to give them a try..

I can't break open a set, but you could add a .022 to your order.

I've been using a .022p for most of my 47 years of playing as I prefer how it stands out more than a .020 when playing melody lines within a chord. The same with a .018 instead of a .017. I like the heavier gauges. My new Mullen SD12 came with the lighter gauges, and I'm a little bit on the fence if I like them. I ordered a set of the NYXL strings and had to order the extra 2 strings for a total around $28. I haven't put them on yet. If I find they are incredibly better than the Live Steel Strings I using now, and I like the thinner gauges, I'll keep using them. But if I have to buy another 2 extra strings (taking the total to over $30 a set) I will stick with what I have been using. It would be nice if they would make 12 string sets. And sets with the heavier gauges.

To fend off any confusion on my posted prices, they include tax and shipping.
